Meta’s upcoming VR headset’s name leaks from the official store, and it’s called “Meta Quest 3S.” It is worth noting that there have been multiple rumors about the company developing an affordable version of the Meta Quest 3. That’s not all, Meta Quest 3S was among a few names of the company’s next VR headset alongside Meta Quest 3 Lite which was tipped in the past.

Meta’s upcoming affordable VR headset’s name “Quest 3S” leaks from the official store

UploadVR first spotted the name “Meta Quest 3S.” The publication reports that the name was visible on the Alo Moves, mixed reality yoga app’s page, but not now. Previously, the app compatibility section mentioned a new VR headset alongside other VR headsets from the company. Since there’s no such device announced to date called Meta Quest 3S, it is evident that the inclusion of an upcoming device could be a mistake.

UploadVR also mentions that it has spotted the Quest 3S name on multiple pages of the Meta store. But, it hasn’t mentioned on which pages it spotted the names. Not to forget, last year similar things happened with Meta Quest 3. The device name was visible in the compatibility list of all the apps before its launch.

The design of Meta’s next VR headset has made a lot of buzz online

Design-wise, the new Meta Quest 3S could look like Quest 2. It could also launch at an affordable $299 price tag. The affordable “Quest 3S” VR headset that appeared in the official store could pack the powerful Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset as the Meta Quest 3. This could also mean that the Quest 3S could support the exclusive games coming to Quest 3.

That’s not all, a few months back, a leaked image of a cheaper Quest 3 resurfaced online. Notably, the device had no passthrough cameras. However, the latest leak claiming the new device could feature two 4MP RGB passthrough cameras contradicts the previous claim. Moreover, Meta could announce “Quest 3S” at the upcoming Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, which is usually held in June or July.
