Memory finds Liam Neeson leading the way as Alex Lewis, an expert assassin with a reputation for discreet precision. Struggling with the morality of his line of work, Alex finds himself in trouble after refusing to complete a job that violates his strict code. He quickly finds himself the target of a dangerous criminal organization, and must now hunt down and kill the people who hired him before they and FBI agent Vincent Serra (Guy Pearce) find him first.
Alex has the skills the stay ahead and is built for revenge but, with a memory that is beginning to falter, he is forced to question his every action and question who he can really trust, as the line between right and wrong becomes blurred.
Alongside Liam Neeson, Memory comes with even more action movie pedigree in the form of director by Martin Campbell, who works from a screenplay by Dario Scardapane. Campbell is best known for the James Bond movies GoldenEye and Casino Royale, as well as Edge of Darkness starring Mel Gibson and The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan. He also directed Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern, but perhaps we should not have mentioned that.
Memory is based on the novel De Zaak Alzheimer by Jef Geeraerts, a novel that has been adapted for the screen before as the 2003 Belgian movie The Alzheimer Case. Memory also has the likes of Guy Pearce as Vincent Serra and Monica Bellucci as Davana Sealman on board, with Harold Torres as Hugo Marquez, Taj Atwal as Linda Amistead, Ray Fearon, and Natalie Anderson as Maryanne Borden making up the rest of the supporting cast.
Liam Neeson Does Think He Will Retire from Action Movies Eventually
Despite constantly churning out action flicks to the delight of audiences everywhere, Liam Neeson does still think he will retire from the genre eventually.
“Oh, yeah. I think so. I’m 68 and a half. 69 this year. There’s a couple more I’m going to do this year — hopefully, COVID allowing us — there’s a couple in the pipeline and, then I think that will probably be it. Well, unless I’m on a Zimmer frame or something,” the actor said last year.
Until the awful day that he walks away forever, Neeson has a few more movies already in the pipeline following the release of Memory. First up is the thriller Retribution from director Nimród Antal, followed by the neo-noir thriller Marlowe. Neeson’s future could also potentially see him make a mockery of his action movie persona in a remake of the beloved comedy The Naked Gun.
Memory is scheduled to be released in the United States by Open Road Films and Briarcliff Entertainment on April 29, 2022.
