Too little and too suspiciously late.
Elon Musk has publicly responded to recent accusations about his use of illegal drugs by sharing a document that claims to show the results of a urine drug test. This move, which included a relaxed reply on a major social media platform, happened on a Tuesday and seems to be a direct answer to ongoing rumors as well as a recent high-profile news story about his alleged drug use.
The document he shared, found by TMZ, shows negative results for several substances, including cocaine, methamphetamine, ketamine, and cannabis. However, the test results have not been confirmed by an independent source. The billionaire released these unverified test results with a “lol” shortly after many accused Musk of taking drugs during the Trump campaign.
Musk’s alleged involvement with different drugs has been spread around, stating that he regularly used ketamine and showed unpredictable behavior, possibly linked to substances like Ecstasy and Adderall. These claims were based on statements from unnamed sources described as insiders who knew about his habits. The timing of Musk’s decision to share the urine test results suggests it was a direct reaction to these damaging allegations.
Musk shares drug test results
The earlier report did more than just accuse Musk of drug use; it also connected his alleged substance use to his brief time working in the Trump administration. According to the report, Musk had a short-term role leading the Department of Government Efficiency. However, he reportedly lost this position after multiple people raised concerns about his behavior. The implication was that his alleged unstable conduct, possibly due to drug use, led to the President no longer supporting his role in the administration.
This link between his personal life and his professional responsibilities in a high-level government job adds more weight to the ongoing public debate and his recent attempt to push back. Before sharing the urine test, Musk had already denied the accusations in the original report, calling them false. He had previously said he had not taken ketamine in years and explained that any past use was in very small, doctor-approved amounts to treat back pain.
This repeated defense shows his stance that any involvement with the drug was for medical reasons under professional supervision, not for recreation or abuse, as the news report suggested. By releasing the unverified urine test, Musk seems to be reinforcing this earlier denial and trying to provide physical proof to back up his statements.
But suspiciously enough, the New York Times article making the said claims came out two weeks ago, and yet, weirdly, Musk waited all this time to furnish his evidence.
Why was he bidding his time? Wouldn’t this so-called evidence make a more hard-hitting impact if he had dropped it within days of the article getting published? Does Musk have another “lol” response up his sleeves to explain the delay in presenting the test results?
