LG has expanded its ultra-light gram and gram Pro laptop lineup, introducing new Intel processors and “Hybrid AI” features. These updates aim to elevate performance and user experience. LG is set to unveil its 2025 “Hybrid AI” gram lineup, the company’s first on-device AI-powered laptops, at CES 2025 in January.
Includes a total of four models
The 16-inch gram Pro stands out as the first Copilot Plus PC in the gram series. It features Intel’s Lunar Lake Core Ultra V-Series processors, while the 17-inch gram Pro and the 16-inch 2-in-1 models come equipped with Arrow Lake Core Ultra H-Series processors. This lineup brings advanced computing power to LG’s lightweight laptops.
The gram Pro laptops come in 16-inch and 17-inch models. Both feature 2,560 x 1,600 resolution displays, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, and up to 2TB Gen4 NVMe SSDs. The 16-inch gram Pro and 16-inch gram Pro 2-in-1 include Intel Arc GPUs for enhanced graphics. Meanwhile, the 17-inch model packs an Nvidia GeForce RTX4050 graphics card for users requiring higher performance.
The lineup also includes the entry-level gram Book, which is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor. It offers a 15.6-inch full HD display, a 720p webcam, up to 1TB SSD storage, and 16GB of DDR4 memory. While more budget-friendly, it maintains the gram lineup’s focus on portability and functionality.
The “Hybrid AI” in upcoming LG gram laptops includes both on-device and cloud AI
LG’s new AI features include gram Chat On-Device and gram Chat Cloud. gram Chat On-Device uses a small language model derived from LG AI Research’s EXAONE large language model. It powers offline features like Time Travel, which allows users to revisit recently accessed web pages, documents, videos, and audio files. gram Chat Cloud, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o, provides detailed responses using vast datasets. It integrates with calendar and email services but requires an active internet connection. This cloud feature is free for the first year.
Additionally, all new gram laptops support gram Link 2.0. This feature streamlines file sharing between PCs and iOS or Android smartphones. It also lets users answer phone calls directly from their gram laptops, eliminating the need to switch devices.
With these upgrades, LG continues to position its gram laptops as a top choice for users seeking lightweight designs, powerful performance, and innovative features. The inclusion of AI capabilities and new Intel processors ensures that the gram series remains competitive in the evolving laptop market.
