Folks, one of the biggest tech events of the year is happening, CES! Brands from all corners of the tech industry are showing off their most exciting products and ideas. LG usually lights up these events with its displays, and this one is no different. Just before CES, LG showed off its new C5 mid-range OLED TVs.

We’ve already seen some exciting stuff from LG until this point. These include the MX Platform. This is a concept vehicle that will allow you to bring your smart home devices on the road with you. Also, the company unveiled its lineup of evo OLED TVs, and they come with an improved AI chip.

Since this is a mid-range TV, you shouldn’t expect any jaw-dropping features or specs. Also, it being a mid-ranger, you should still expect a decent viewing experience. One thing to note is that the main difference will be its brightness. LG itself mentioned to Techradar that the C5 will have a minor brightness bump compared to the C4. However, the company didn’t give any details on how much brighter. We don’t know if it will clue us in at a later date.

Most of the other specs might be carried over from last year’s model. While it’s a mid-ranger, you’re still getting a crisp 4K resolution. Along with that, you’re getting a fluid 144Hz refresh rate.

While this TV isn’t any beefier than its predecessor, it’s certainly smarter. LG will load some neat AI features onto the LG C5 that will make using it easier. For example, it will have a voice recognition feature that will recognize each person’s individual voice. This means that it will be able to tell your voice from your roommates’ or other people who may have an account. Once it picks up on your voice, it’ll switch to your profile, which will, ostensibly, be full of your recommendations and settings.

How much will this cost? Your answer is as good as ours. LG hasn’t released any pricing information about this TV just yet. Last year’s LG C4 started at $1,499.99, so we should expect a price similar to that. Also, that TV launched in March of 2024, so we can expect a spring launch for the C5.
