Jon Prosser leaked just about all of the information on the Pixel Fold
Noted leaker Jon Prosser just took to YouTube to dump a bunch of leaked information about the Pixel Fold. Now, even though Prosser is a reliable source of sensitive leaked information, you’ll still want to take this information with a grain of salt.
Display
So, starting off with the outer display details, this phone could have a 5.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2092 x 1080. The leak says that it will have a 17.4:9 aspect ratio and it will run at 120Hz. The inner display looks like it will be 7.6 inches with a resolution of 2208 x 1840. This one will have a 6:5 aspect ratio and also run at 120Hz.
Internals
As you can expect, the Pixel Fold will use the company’s own Tensor G2 SoC. That’s expected to be backed up by 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB of onboard storage.
Battery
So, unfortunately, the leak didn’t mention the exact battery capacity. All we know is that Google will tout this as a “Beyond 24-hour battery”. It also says that it’s a “Beyond 72-hour battery” with Extreme Power Saving mode activated.
Camera
Moving onto the camera, there is a fair amount of them. On the back, it looks like this phone will have a 48MP main camera (f/1.7) accompanied by a 10.8MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2) and a 10.8MP 5x telephoto camera (f/3.05).
When it comes to video, the main camera may be able to record at 4K resolution at 30fps and 1080p at up to 60fps.
The front-facing camera on the outer display is expected to be a 9.5MP camera (f/2.2) while the front-facing camera on the inner display could be an 8MP camera (f/2.0).
Other information
The Pixel Fold is expected to support Real Tone, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Rear Camera Selfie, and Long Exposure. It will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. As for the size and weight, the Pixel Fold is expected to weigh a hefty 283g and be half an inch thick when folded.
Price and release
The price is expected to be $1799 for the base model with 256GB of storage. It could come in both Chalk and Obsidian colors. The upper-tier model will have 512GB of storage and that’s expected to cost $1919. That one may only come in Obsidian.
As for the launch, this is interesting. The leak says that Google will have a teaser for the device on April 26th. After that, we expect the phone to be officially announced on May 10th during Google I/O. It may also enter pre-order during that time.
Lastly, the phone could be available for general purchase and start shipping out on June 27th. The leak also says that if you purchase the Pixel Fold, the company may throw in a Pixel watch.
