There seem to be almost no surprises left for Google’s Android-powered Pixel 8a, which has just shown up in a newly leaked promo video for showing off how the AI features work. The presence of these features is not new information. In an exclusive report from Android Headlines earlier this morning, the Pixel 8a’s AI features were leaked in a few different promotional images. These detailed things like Best Take which you can find on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, as well as the Audio Magic Eraser and Circle to Search.
In the leaked promo video, however, you can see the AI features of the Pixel 8a being used in action. And it’s a little different to see the features working as opposed to seeing a static image of their description. Unsurprisingly, the video shows off some of the smartest functions the Pixel 8a will offer. In addition to those mentioned above, you also get a look at the live translate feature working in real time.
It’s all pretty standard stuff that has been on Google’s flagship phones since at least Fall. Some, like the live translate, have been around for a while. Nevertheless, Up until today’s leaks it was never really confirmed how much AI would be baked into the Pixel 8a.
The AI features promo video gives yet another look at the Pixel 8a
Short of the price and when and where you can buy one, there’s not a lot that isn’t known about the Pixel 8a at this point. It’s leaked numerous times in renders and promotional images. And now the video gives consumers yet another look at Google’s next A series phone. That being said, you don’t get much if anything that’s new in terms of the phone’s design. Everything that can be seen in the video has leaked in static image form.
The only thing that the video doesn’t show is the Mint color of the phone. This has already leaked through images though, so it’s most certainly coming. The leak, which comes from MySmartPrice and OnLeaks, also mentions a few expected specifications. The Pixel 8a is expected to come running on Google’s Tensor G3 chipset which also powers the Pixel 8 series. Additionally, it should have a 6.1-inch 120Hz display, 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, a 64MP main camera, and a 4,500mAh battery supporting 27W fast charging. It’ll also be running on Android 14.
