The iPhone 16 is only a couple of weeks away from being made official by Apple. Which means the leaks and rumors are heating up. And that includes a new video showing the iPhone 16 in its black colorway, out in the rain, surprisingly.
This video comes from Majin Bu, who likely found this on Chinese social media website, Weibo. That’s where a lot of their leaks come from. This video shows the iPhone 16, and it looks just like most of the leaks we’ve seen. It’s interesting that the person is showing it off while walking in the rain, normally we’d think this means it is waterproof, but iPhones have been rated as waterproof since the iPhone 7 series.
On the back, we can see the dual camera setup, which is now vertical rather than horizontal. While many believe that this was done to indicate whether you have the new one or not, it was actually done more so for recording Spatial Video. Apple wants you to record more Spatial Video, which you can then watch on the Vision Pro. Spatial Video requires both cameras to record at the same time, which works best in a vertical alignment like this.

iPhone 16 will be official on September 9
Earlier this week, Apple sent out invites for a September 9 event, called “It’s Glowtime”. We expect that the iPhone 16 series will be announced on that day, along with a few other goodies. Pricing for the iPhone 16 series is expected to remain the same, with the iPhone 16 starting at $799, the iPhone 16 Plus at $899, iPhone 16 Pro at $999 and the iPhone 16 Pro Max at $1,199.
All four models are expected to have at least 8GB of RAM this time around, that would be a nice upgrade for the non-Pro models, which have 6GB currently. The reason for this upgrade is actually, Apple Intelligence. That’s Apple’s AI suite of products that announced at WWDC, and it unfortunately, is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, as well as the new iPhone 16 models.
