Samsung is confirmed to launch the Galaxy F23 5G on March 8. But that could just be the beginning of a flurry of smartphones coming out of the Korean firm’s doors. The company has several other budget, mid-range, and premium mid-range devices in the works. Among them is the Galaxy M23 5G which has been on our radar for some time now. And as we wait for official confirmation regarding its launch, the device has been subject to another major leak revealing its design and key specs.
The folks over at MySmartPrice have got hold of the Galaxy M23 5G renders in three different colors. The device features three rear cameras vertically aligned in a rectangular island, along with an LED flash. We are expecting a 50-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Rumored camera features include OIS (optical image stabilization) and 4K video recording at 30 fps (frames per second).
On the front, we have a U-shaped notched display with noticeable bezels. It is reportedly a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy M23 5G will get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G SoC.
Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM, 5000mAh battery, and up to 128GB of internal storage expandable up to 1TB via a micro SD card are some other highlights of the phone. It will run Android 12 out of the box, with Samsung’s One UI 4 on top. The Galaxy M23 5G gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.
Is the Galaxy M23 5G a rebranded Galaxy F23 5G?
Samsung has done this before — rebranding an existing smartphone and launching it under a different series. Sometimes, with minor changes. The Galaxy A22 5G and Galaxy F42 5G, for example, are too identical in terms of specs to be two different devices. The same goes for the Galaxy M42 5G and the Galaxy A42 5G as well.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung repeats this again. And going by the rumored specs of the Galaxy M23 5G, it appears to be a rebranded Galaxy F23 5G. The latter is already confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 750G processor and an FHD+ 120Hz display. Even the two phone’s front and rear designs appear to be a ditto copy.
As said earlier, the Galaxy F23 5G will go official on March 8. It will be interesting to see when Samsung unveils the Galaxy M23 5G and whether it will be a rebadged version of the former. We will keep you posted.
