Ironhide Game Studios has announced the release date of Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance, and it’s coming this Summer to Android for anyone wanting to dive in. Kingdom Rush is easily one of the best tower defense franchises on Android, and the fifth installment in the series is poised to introduce some really fun and exciting upgrades.
The biggest change, and perhaps the one players will enjoy the most, is the ability to bring two heroes into battle. The heroes in Kingdom Rush are super powerful units you can summon that deal tons of damage to enemies. That being said, the series has only ever allowed you to use one hero in battle at a time. With Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance, you’ll be able to summon two heroes at once. This is undoubtedly going to make for some interesting mix-and-match combinations. And it could lead to some overwhelmingly powerful unit setups.
Speaking of heroes, Kingdom Rush 5 will have 12 epic heroes to choose from. Fancy having two dragons on the field burning up your enemies? Well, now you’ll be able to do that. The game will additionally have the tower units players have come to know and love. Including the paladin, archer, necromancer, mages, and more. There will also be 15 towers in total with special skills, as well as 27 upgradeable characters and 16 different campaign stages. And don’t worry about getting bored because there will be three different game modes. Not to mention more than 50 achievements to acquire.
Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance gets a release date of July 25
Fans will still have a few more months to wait before they can play. But the launch is coming sooner than you think. Officially it’ll land on July 25. You can even pre-register right now if you like. Ironhide Game Studios is releasing the game for Android and iOS, and it’ll be on PC too through Steam. Like all the other Kingdom Rush games, this will be a premium title. Pricing will also be different depending on what platform you buy it on though. If you pick it up on Android and iOS, it’ll only cost you $6.99.
If you pick it up on Steam, however, it’ll cost you $19.99. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like this is a Steam Deck-verified game. At least not now. Which is a shame because this would be perfect for playing on a handheld. Still, you’ll be able to play it on handhelds like the ROG Ally.
Two mortal enemies pair up to face a colossal threat
The theme of Kingdom Rush 5 is the alliance you make. In past games, the Linirea and the Dark Army have always been at odds with each other. But this time, they’ll need to form an unlikely alliance to take on the dangers ahead. But there’s still the looming threat of each of them turning on one another. As enemies are won’t to do.
You can watch the cinematic trailer below, and if you feel like pre-registering you can do via the platform store where you plan to pick it up.
