Miley’s honest about not wanting kids.

Miley Cyrus has opened up about her personal stance on motherhood, explaining why she has never felt particularly drawn to having children. The “Flowers” singer shared her thoughts during a recent appearance on The New York TimesThe Interview podcast, where she drew an unexpected comparison between her lack of interest in motherhood and her decision not to launch a makeup line.

According to Huff Post, the conversation began when Cyrus recounted a discussion with her stepfather, who questioned why she was the only celebrity without her own makeup brand. Her response revealed her approach to life decisions based on genuine passion rather than following trends or expectations.

“I feel that way about motherhood. It’s just never been something that I’ve been overly passionate about,” Cyrus explained during the interview. She emphasized that motherhood requires significant commitment, stating that “It’s a lot of responsibility and devotion and energy, and if you’re not passionate about that, I don’t know how you do sleepless nights and 18 years of what my mom dealt with.”

Cyrus has been consistent about her feelings on parenthood

This is not the first time Cyrus has spoken openly about her perspective on having children. In a 2020 interview on SiriusXM Hits 1’s “The Morning Mash Up,” she expressed similar sentiments about both motherhood and marriage. She made it clear that her position comes from a place of self-awareness rather than judgment of others’ choices.

During that earlier interview, Cyrus acknowledged that her views have evolved as she has gotten older and gained more life experience. She admitted that fans might find contradictions between her current stance and things she may have said as a child, but emphasized that she now has “a little bit more of a realistic idea of what they want.”

The singer joins other celebrities who have been open about their decision not to have children, including actor Seth Rogen, who discussed in 2023 how not having children has contributed to his career success. Cyrus’s candid approach to discussing personal choices reflects a growing trend of public figures being transparent about their life decisions, particularly when those choices go against traditional expectations. Her message remains clear that these are personal decisions that deserve respect regardless of the path chosen.
