Apple announced its new iPhones yesterday. Before the launch, the iPhone 16 Pro Max in particular was rumored to have extremely thin bezels, but things didn’t turn out that way, unfortunately.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max bezels are thin, but not as thin as rumored

Don’t get us wrong, the bezels on the phone are thin, but not as thin as rumored. The phone was rumored to include 1.15mm bezels on every side. While its bezels are uniform, they’re nowhere as thin as rumored.

Apple allegedly used the tech called Border Reduction Structure (BRS) in order to thin down the bezels. Despite that, however, the bezels are about as thin as the ones on the Samsung Galaxy S24+.

The CAD renders were misleading

Ice Universe, a well-known tipster, noticed this, admitting that the CAD renders were misleading. He even included some images to prove his point, which you can see in the gallery below.

In the comments, one user asked about the Galaxy S25 Ultra bezels. Ice Universe confirmed that Samsung’s upcoming flagship will have thinner bezels than this, that’s for sure. Its bezel thinness was teased not long ago, and they will be thinner than the ones on the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Apple announced four smartphones yesterday

Now, in case you missed the memo, Apple announced four iPhone 16 smartphones yesterday. The iPhone 16 Pro Max arrived in addition to the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro.

The ‘Pro’ models have larger displays this time around. They’re also on the same playing field, basically, as the iPhone 16 Pro Max doesn’t have the camera advantage this time around. The iPhone 16 Pro also includes a tetraprism camera.

In regards to the design, the ‘Pro’ models look very similar to their predecessors. The vanilla variants do have a different-looking camera setup on the back, but other than that, they’re not much different either.
