According to a new report, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 could actually arrive at the same time this year. That did not happen last year with iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, by the way.
This information comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who often shares Apple-related details. He’s usually quite accurate so we have no reason to doubt this prediction.
iOS 17 & iPadOS 17 will seemingly arrive at the same time this year
As a reminder, last year, iOS 16 arrived on September 12, five days after the iPhone 14 series was announced. iPadOS 16 was released on October 24, quite a bit later than iOS 16. That delay was caused by some changes to the Stage Manager Apple had to make.
It seems like this year everything is ready, and no last-minute changes are needed. Also, Gurman writes that the recently released eighth beta of iOS will be the last beta. So, that’s basically the last step before the stable version comes knocking.
We already know what iOS 17 will bring, of course, as Apple did announce it earlier this year. You’ll get the StandBy mode, which basically turns your iPhone into a smart display when it’s charging. Personalized Contact Posters are also coming, and more.
Apple has scheduled an iPhone event for September 12
The release of iOS 17 is right around the corner, and the same goes for iPadOS 17, of course. Apple did announce the September 12 event, where it will introduce its new iPhones.
The iPhone 15 series is coming, and a lot of rumors and leaks already surfaced. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will feature titanium frames this time around, and will also include thinner bezels than their predecessors. The ‘Pro Max’ model will also include a periscope camera on the back.
All iPhone 15 models are set to feature a Dynamic Island cutout, and they’ll all also include Type-C ports. This entire series will essentially debut Type-C on iPhones.
