I Am Rage is from the team behind Army of One (2020). It stars Hannaj Bang Bendz, who can be recognized for her memorable roles in the British films The Man Up the Stairs and Glamour. I Am Rage is directed by David Ryan Keith, who previously collaborated with Uncork’d Entertainment on The Redwood Massacre movies. Keith co-wrote the screenplay for I Am Rage with Stephen Durham (Army of One).

The official synopsis for I Am Rage is as follows:

Erin’s idyllic countryside trip turns to terror when a sinister blood cult abducts her. But they made a grave mistake, her abductors soon learn the painful consequences of crossing someone with severe anger issues.

“An action extravaganza with brilliantly choreographed action and fight sequences and a terrific performance by Hannaj Bang Bendz, I Am Rage is likely to be added to many watchlists this summer,” Uncork’d Entertainment President Keith Leopard says of the movie. “If you enjoy similar-themed titles John Wick, Atomic Blonde and Uncork’d’s Army of One, it’s a must-watch.”

Keith has experience in working with the constraints of lower-budget projects in indie film. He previously recalled in a Drunk In A Graveyard interview how horror was a great genre for indie filmmakers to delve into while noting how it can often take some creativity to figure out how to make these kinds of films work when dealing with the budgetary limitations.

“The horror genre has always been a good fit for low budget indie filmmakers, it’s a great place to start and experiment with the actual nuts & bolts of making movies,” he said. “Hiring professional actors & crew is really expensive, but horror seems to be more forgiving when working with lower budgets, it forces you to work on the visual side of things to try and make up for what you don’t have behind the camera (and sometimes in front).”

On putting together The Redwood Massacre, the director added, “We raised £35k of our own money to make The Redwood Massacre; it’s still a ridiculously low amount of money to produce a movie, especially when you don’t really have that kind of disposable finances to throw into a production that might not make anything back. We kept getting told that slasher films didn’t sell, but I was convinced the horror community would at least give this kind of movie a chance if produced & marketed in the correct way.”

I Am Rage will be released on Digital and DVD on Aug. 1, 2023, courtey of Uncork’d Entertainment.
