Huawei announced its groundbreaking tri-fold smartphone yesterday and has now released an official video for all global consumers to see. The video has popped up on Huawei’s ‘Huawei Mobile’ YouTube channel, its global YouTube channel. The device is called the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design.

This actually gives us hope that the company plans to push this phone to global markets. As many of you know, it launched in China yesterday, and we still don’t know if it will be coming to more markets.

Huawei’s very first tri-fold smartphone gets shown in an official video

In any case, this video has a duration of 1 minute, and it gives us a great look at the phone. It’s actually rather pleasant to watch. You’ll get to see both the red and dark gray/black models of the phone here.

In the video, Huawei does give us a peek at the phone’s hinges. It also emphasizes the ‘Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera’. For those of you who don’t know, this phone does offer variable aperture on its main camera. Ultrawide and periscope telephoto cameras are also included on the back.

Huawei is also using ‘Aerospace-Grade Fiber’ here, to make the phone both durable and light enough. That fiber is covered by vegan leather on this smartphone, which also helps with weight.

This is also the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, and it has a 10.2-inch panel

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, in case you missed the memo. It includes a 10.2-inch LTPO AMOLED display, which can fold into two smaller displays. It can become a 7.9-inch display and a 6.4-inch panel.

This smartphone is also thinner than you may think. It measures 12.8mm when folded, which makes it only slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is a regular foldable. The phone weighs 298 grams.

Despite having limited space, Huawei also managed to include 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging here, not to mention that 7.5W reverse wireless charging is also on offer.

We presumed that the Kirin 9010 fuels the phone, even though Huawei didn’t mention it. It turns out we were right, as that has just been confirmed too.
