In addition to announcing the global variants of the Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pocket, Huawei also unveiled a new smartwatch today. The Huawei Watch GT Runner is its name, and it’s a rather interesting piece of tech.
This smartwatch is “designed to help professional runners achieve their goals”, says Huawei. This smartwatch kind of looks like a sporty variant of the Huawei Watch 3, in other words, it looks quite sleek.
The Huawei Watch Runner GT has a large, crisp display
You’ll notice there are two buttons included on the right-hand side, and the top one doubles as a rotating crown. The display is quite large, and it’s a circular panel. This is a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution.
The watch is made out of “Durable Polymer Fiber”, while it includes a silicone strap (black or gray). The Huawei Watch Runner GT supports Huawei TruSeen 5.0+ heart rate monitoring, and TruSport professional running training system.
The watch body weighs only 38.5 grams, and the aforementioned silicone strap actually has antibacterial properties. The watch also features five major satellite systems, GPS + Beidou + GLONASS + Galileo + GZSS.
It also has a built-in Dual-Band Five-System GNSS positioning chip with a suspended hidden antenna. Huawei says that the news design of the watch improves the performance of the GPS antenna by 135-percent.
You can get up to 14 days of battery life with this watch
The company also claims this watch can provide you with up to 14 days of battery life in smart mode, under typical usage scenarios. It can also provide up to 8 days of battery life with heavy use.
The watch comes with over 100 sports modes, an all-day SpO2 monitoring, sleep and stress monitoring, and Heavy Living reminders like drinking water, deep breathing, early bedtime, and so on.
The watch also has a built-in altitude barometer, it supports the compass feature, and so much more. HarmonyOS 2.1 comes pre-installed on the watch.
Huawei included 4GB of storage inside of this watch, and the device is 5 ATM water resistant. It charges wirelessly, and it comes with a wireless charging cradle.
The Huawei Watch GT Runner will cost €299, announced the company.
