The Huawei P50 Pocket design has been confirmed, along with some display information. First Huawei confirmed that this will be a clamshell foldable via its official Weibo account. You can see the images the company shared in the gallery below.
The Huawei P50 Pocket design has been confirmed via a photoshoot
That being said, some far more interesting images appeared on Twitter. Ishan Agarwal shared images from harper’s Bazaar China shoot with the Chinese actress Guan Xiao Tong.
These images are… well, far more revealing. We’re seeing the phone’s final design here, and we can also see it from several different angles. It does not show off its internal display, though.
These pictures do confirm that the leaks were spot on thus far. This will be a direct competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It has two circular modules on the back. The top one is reserved for the cameras, while there’s a small display in the bottom one.
Huawei’s upcoming foldable will fold right down the middle, the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It won’t be too thick, it seems, even when folded, and it looks flashy, especially in this gold-type color.
The phone’s display sizes have also been revealed
Having said that, a well-known display analyst, Ross Young, also revealed display sizes that we’ll get. The Huawei P50 Pocket will feature a 6.85-inch main display, and a 1-inch secondary panel.
The phone will likely be made out of metal and glass, in case you were wondering. You can clearly see that its rear camera modules will protrude on the back, while its secondary display will not.
We’re still not sure what else to expect in terms of specs. Huawei will probably include high-end, or at least very powerful mid-range specs here, we’ll see. One thing to note is that this phone will ship without Google services due to the US ban. That was to be expected, though. This smartphone is coming on December 23.
