The Huawei Mate 70 series launch date has been confirmed by the company’s Chairman. The devices will become official on November 26. The launch event will take place in China, by the way. Do note that the phone(s) is expected to launch globally too, though.
The Huawei Mate 70 series launch date has been officially confirmed
The confirmation came from Yu Chengdong during the Guanghzhou Auto Show 2024 live stream event. He did reveal the launch date, though it seems as if it happened by accident. It was planned for Huawei to do it as a company. Either way, the cat is out of the bag.
These were his exact words: “As for the public, it will probably be at our Mate 70 launch conference on the 26th… uh, by the end of this month”. That’s a confirmation no matter what way you look at it.
Yu Chendong did say recently that the phones will launch before the end of November. So he only filled in the blanks this time around. The devices will likely be fueled by the Kirin 9100 processor, a 6nm chip. Huawei was rumored to use a 5nm Kirin processor, but that won’t happen, it seems.
The ‘Pro’ model did surface in a real-life image recently
The Huawei Mate 70 Pro even surfaced recently. It was spotted in a real-life image, though unfortunately we only got to see its front side, and it right side. That reveled a somewhat similar look to its predecessor, the Mate 60 Pro.
The Huawei Mate 70 Pro will have three display holes, just like its predecessor. One will be reserved for the camera, and the other two for the 3D facial scanning technology. The display will be flat, well, probably micro-curved, but that basically means flat with a slightly curved glass on the edges.
This model will have a flat frame all around. That’s not spomething we can say for its predecessor. So that will be one of the main differences. We still don’t know what will the backplate look like, though.
The Huawei Mate 70 series is expected to make it to global markets. We’re not sure when, nor what software will the phones offer. In China, they’ll launch with the brand new HarmonyOS NEXT, Huawei’s new OS which is not based on Android.
