Huawei has just shown us the design and launch date of its budget flip phone. The device in question is the Huawei Nova Flip. That Android smartphone will become official on August 6, it has been announced.

Huawei’s budget flip phone is coming in about a week, and here’s its design

The device will become official in China on said date, but it’s expected to reach global markets too. Considering that the company released a video teaser too, we know what the phone will look like.

You can check out the video teaser by clicking here, or you can simply check out the gallery below, which shows a bunch of screenshots from that video. If this phone ends up being affordable enough, it could attract some people, that’s for sure.

You can clearly see that its main, foldable display has a centered display camera up top. That’s something we’re seeing on basically all clamshell foldables as of late. The bezels don’t seem to be thick either, quite the contrary.

This teaser video does tell us a lot about the phone’s design

The hinge seems to be hidden when the phone is unfolded. The frame is flat all around, and it has chamfered edges. It’s obvious that the frame is made out of metal. We still don’t know what material will be used on the back, though. Glass and/or vegan leather are the most probable materials, though.

Now, when we take a look at the phone’s back, you’ll notice two vertically-aligned cameras in the top-left corner (when it’s in an unfolded state). Next to those cameras is a cover display. It’s nowhere near as small as the display on the Huawei P50 Pocket, but it’s considerably smaller than the panel on the Motorola Razr+ 2024 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.

The phone does fold flat, in case you were wondering, and we can also see that a SIM slot is located at the bottom. The Huawei Nova Flip will launch on August 6 with a bunch of other Huawei products in China. Huawei is expected to announce the MateBook GT 14, MatePad Air 2024, and MatePad Pro 12.2, though more devices could arrive.
