The new iPhone has officially been announced – the iPhone 15. And it comes in four models, with pre-orders starting on Friday. But how can you pre-order your new iPhone and get it on launch day, without any hiccups? That’s what we’re going to show you how to do in this article.
When do iPhone 15 Pre-orders start?
Pre-orders for the iPhone 15 series (that’s iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max) will start on September 15. The devices will start shipping a week later on September 22.
Prices for the iPhone 15 series are basically the same as the iPhone 14 series. The only real difference is the iPhone 15 Pro Max axing the 128GB model and starting at 256GB. So iPhone 15 will start at $799, iPhone 15 Plus at $899, iPhone 15 Pro at $999, and iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,199.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are available in five colors: Pink, Green, Blue, White and Black. While the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are available in four colors: Natural Titanium, Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium.
How to pre-order iPhone 15
The easiest ways to pre-order your new iPhone 15 is going to be through Apple, or through your carrier. You can get the same deals from your carrier through Apple as well, but there are a few different financing options through Apple.
AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are offering up to $1,000 off of the Pro and Pro Max with a trade-in. Or a free iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus with trade-in. These are very good deals, as the phone you trade in doesn’t matter. You just need to trade-in a phone.
Now, on T-Mobile and Verizon, you get better deals on the more expensive plans. Whereas AT&T will offer you the same deals on every plan. So to get the best deals from T-Mobile and Verizon, you’ll need to be on the Go5G Next or Unlimited Premium plans.
Pre-order iPhone 15 from Apple
Now, if you do decide to pre-order your iPhone 15 from Apple, you have loads of choices here. Including the ability to pick up from the store, instead of having to wait for FedEx or UPS to deliver it.
For financing, Apple offers a couple of its own options, including financing the iPhone over 24 months, or the iPhone Upgrade Program. The iPhone Upgrade Program is really great, because you get AppleCare included in the price, and you can upgrade your phone every year, without paying anything more. However, perhaps the best option is that you can pay with your Apple Card, and get 0% APR, but earn 3% cash back on the full cost of your iPhone right away. Pair that with Apple’s new savings account, and that can really rake in some money for you.
Apple does still allow you to sign up and finance your iPhone with a carrier. You’ll still get the same deals here, including $1,000 off with a trade-in. But what’s different this year, is that Apple is actually splitting the trade-in with carriers. So you’ll get about half of it right away applied to your balance, with the other half coming over bill credits from your carrier. It’s an interesting way to do things for sure.
iPhone 15 Pre-Order Q&A
Here are some commonly asked questions regarding the pre-order process for iPhone 15.
Can I trade in my old phone?
Yes, you most certainly can. The best way to do this is going to be to take advantage of these pre-order deals. Since the carriers are giving you $1,000 for every phone, regardless of its age. As long as it is in working order. That’s enough to get you a “free” iPhone or a very discounted iPhone 15 Pro Max.
However, if you are buying it outright and want it unlocked, then trading in your phone to a place like Decluttr or Gazelle might be a better option. As you’ll get paid right away. Or you can opt to sell it yourself if it is fairly new.
Am I signing a contract to finance my iPhone 15?
Technically, yes. Though it’s not the same contract you used to sign with carriers about a decade ago. You’re signing a contract here to pay your balance each month on your phone. Now you can leave your carrier at any time, however, you will owe what is remaining on the balance of your phone. And you will also forfeit any remaining bill credits.
Why should I pre-order?
In recent years, the iPhone has had constraints on stock. Which means that if you were late to pre-ordering your iPhone, you were likely going to be waiting a few weeks or even a month for your phone. But if you pre-order on the day that pre-orders start, you’re much more likely to get your phone on launch day.
