How To Follow A Playlist On Spotify

Spotify is one of the world’s most popular music streaming services. You can stream podcasts as well via the service, in case you’re not aware. This service stands side-by-side with YouTube Music and Apple Music, and needless to say, it’s great. Now, we’re here to show you how to take advantage of one of the features it offers. We’ll show you how to follow a playlist on Spotify, and we’ll do that for both Android and desktop clients.

In this article, we’ll share a step-by-step guide on how to follow a playlist on Spotify, starting with the Android app, and moving to the web interface on your desktop computer, regardless of which you use, as all you need is an Internet browser. That being said, you’ll also find some screenshots below, to help you follow along.

How to follow a playlist on Spotify (Android)

The first thing you need to do is launch Spotify, of course. Then, you’ll need to scroll down until you find “Spotify Playlists”, and choose one of the offered playlists. We’ll go for the ‘Today’s Top Hits’ one.

Once you tap on that, and enter the playlist by doing so, you’ll see a heart icon on the left. Tap it.

That hollow heart icon will become green, and you’ll get a toast message at the bottom saying “Added to Your Library”. You can also tap the ‘Your Library’ option at the bottom following that, to see what’s in your library.

Once Your Library opens, you’ll see the added playlist there, as shown below.

How to follow a playlist on Spotify (desktop)

The procedure is quite similar on the desktop, but the layout looks a bit different, of course. Navigate to Spotify.com, and log in. Once you do that, you’ll need to scroll down until you find the ‘Spotify Playlists’ section. Choose a playlist, and click on it. We’ll go for the ‘Chill Hits’ this time around.

Once you’re in, click the hollow heart icon, the same as on the mobile app.

That icon will become green, and you’ll get the ‘Saved to Your Library’ toast message at the bottom. You can now click the ‘Your Library’ option in the upper left corner.

There you’ll notice the playlist you’ve added, and have access to it at all times.
