How To Check How Busy A Store Is With Google Maps

Did you know you can see how busy a particular store is just by using Google Maps? Well, some of you probably already know about this feature, but if you don’t, well, we’re here to tell you about it. Needless to say, this is a really useful feature, as you can check if it’s worth going to the store or not. If it’s really busy at the time you’re planning to go, you may want to wait, or go some other time. In this article, we’ll show you how to check how busy a store is with Google Maps. We’ll explain it step-by-step, and will also include some screenshots, so that you can follow along on your PC or smartphone. Do note that the procedure is pretty much the same on both the web version of Google Maps, and on your app. We will, however, do a guide for both, separately. So, let’s get started, shall we.

How to check how busy a store is with Google Maps on your PC

The first thing you’ll need to do is open the Google Maps website. So, type in maps.google.com, and the city where you’re at will open.

Now you have to decide what store you’d like to check. In our example, we decided to check how busy Ralph Lauren’s store in Beverly Hills is. So, you can either type in the store you want in a search bar up top, or find it manually on the map, we opted for the second one. When you find it, click on it.

On the left side, information about that store will open. It will contain reviews, images, address, work hours, and so on. You’ll likely have to scroll down in order to get to the information we’re interested in, though. We’re looking for the “Popular times” graph, as shown below.

As you can see, you can select any day of the week you want, and see how busy the store is at a specific time. The graph shows you how busy a store is from when it opens, to when it closes, so you can choose the least busy time to visit it.

How to check how busy a store is with Google Maps on your phone

The process on a phone is really similar. The first thing you’ll need to do is open your Google Maps app. On most devices, you’ll need to swipe up on the home screen, to access your app drawer.

Once the app opens, and your city opens, simply find the store you’d like to check out. Either manually, or use the search. We’ll once again check the same store in Beverly Hills, by finding it manually. All we had to do is zoom in. Once you spot the store, tap on it.

You’ll need to scroll down until you spot “Popular times” information.

You can tap on the drop-down menu to check a specific day of the week.

Once you do that, you can also tap on a specific time in the graph, to get more information. In our example, we chose 2 PM, when the store is busiest, as you can see in the image provided below. This is a step you can’t do on the web version.
