HONOR has announced two new smartphones, the HONOR 200 series. The devices that were announced are the HONOR 200 and HONOR 200 Pro. HONOR announced the two phones in China, as this is their initial launch. Both are expected to launch globally too, though.
The HONOR 200 series is official, and the phones are coming to global markets
Chances are that both smartphones will be identical globally, but with different software, of course. So this initial launch does reveal all the detail that you may be wondering about.
If you take a look at the two devices below, you’ll see that they’re similar, but also different. You can easily tell which is which by their display holes. The HONOR 200 has a display camera hole, while the HONOR 200 Pro has a pill-shaped cutout on the display.
Everything else is very similar, though. They both have curved displays with very thin bezels. There’s also an oval camera island on the back, in the top-left corner. Their backplates are rounded at the very edges.
In regards to specs, these are mid-range phones, but very powerful mid-range phones… especially the HONOR 200 Pro. Let’s talk about that device first, shall we?
The HONOR 200 Pro is fueled by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC
The HONOR 200 Pro includes a 6.78-inch 2700 x 1224 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That’s an OLED panel, by the way, and it gets immensely bright. It also offers a 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 fuels this smartphone, while HONOR offers 12GB and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM variants. Those two models come with 512GB and 1TB of non-expandable storage.
It supports 100W wired and 66W wireless charging
A 5,200mAh battery is included in the package, and the phone supports 100W wired charging. It also supports 66W wireless charging. Android 14 comes pre-installed with MagicOS 8.0 on top of it.
A 50-megapixel main camera (OmniVision OV50H sensor, f/1.9 aperture, OIS), is backed with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (112-degree FOV, 2.5cm macro camera), and a 50-megapixel telephoto unit (Sony’s IMX856 sensor, 2.5x optical zoom, OIS).
An in-display fingerprint scanner is also a part of the package. The phone also includes a set of stereo speakers, and Bluetooth 5.3. It measures 163.3 x 75.2 x 8.2mm and weighs 199 grams. The HONOR 200 Pro’s pricing starts at CNY3,499 ($483) in China.
The HONOR 200 has a 120Hz display & Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip
The vanilla HONOR 200, on the flip side, has a 6.7-inch 2664 x 1200 OLED display. That panel is also curved, and it also has a 120Hz refresh rate. It gets just as bright as the HONOR 200 Pro panel, and it has the same 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 fuels this smartphone, while both 12GB and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM models are available. Those two variants include 256GB and 512GB of internal storage, respectively.
