HMD, the new home of Nokia phones, has already introduced a handful of new smartphones earlier this year. In addition, the company also released newer variants of a few nostalgia-inducing feature phones. Now, HMD is planning to introduce a new Android tablet. The new slate is said to launch as the HMD Tab Lite. While the company is yet to reveal anything officially, a leak has revealed the render, specifications, and pricing details of the HMD Tab Lite.
HMD Tab Lite’s leaked specs suggest a budget offering with an 8.7-inch HD display
According to the specs shared by the source, the HMD Tab Lite will be a budget Android tablet. The slate will have a classic design featuring a single rear and selfie camera. It will have quite large bezels, especially on top and bottom. The tablet’s power button and volume rocker appear to be placed on the right side, towards the top-edge.
The source indicates that the HMD Tab Lite will be rocking an 8.7-inch IPS LCD display. The screen will offer a resolution of 1,340 x 800 pixels, which will offer a maximum brightness of 560 nits. It will be slightly larger than the HMD T21 tablet, which was introduced last year with a 10-inch screen.
A Unisoc T610 SoC, 64GB storage, and a 5,500mAh fast-charging battery
Furthermore, the tipster has revealed that the HMD Tab Lite will be powered by a Unisoc T610 processor. The chipset will have a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz. The SoC will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which could be further expandable. In the camera department, the slate will offer a 5MP rear snapper. On the front, there will be a more superior 8MP selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.0.
The source claims that the HMD Tab Lite will be backed by a 5,500mAh battery. While it may seem small for an 8.7-inch device, it does support 18W fast charging technology. Details regarding the Android version of the upcoming HMD tablet are unknown at the moment.
The upcoming HMD tablet is said to be an affordable tablet at €149
Lastly, the latest leak suggests that the HMD Tab Lite will be priced at €149, which roughly translates to $160. It looks like we will be getting an affordable tablet from the company next. The slate is said to be arriving in three attractive color variants including Black, Pink, and Blue.
Unfortunately, there’s no word regarding the launch date of the device at the moment. However, since everything about the new HMD tablet is leaked, we could be looking at an imminent launch.
