Amazon is currently discounting the brand new Hisense U8 series of TVs, this is the U8QG that was announced just a couple of months ago. All sizes, except for the 85-inch, is currently discounted. Those prices are as follows:
- 55″ – $999 (reg. $1,499)
- 65″ – $1,498 (reg. $2,199)
- 75″ – $1,999 (reg. $2,499)
- 100″ – $4,998 (reg. $6,999)
The Hisense U8QG is a pretty impressive TV. In fact, I just received my review unit a few days ago, and I’ve been very impressed with the brightness. This is a MiniLED TV, and it allows the brightness to go up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. That’s all without destroying the picture quality too, which is mighty impressive.
Along with the 5,000 nits of peak brightness, there are also up to 5,000 local dimming zones here. This allows the U8QG to offer incredible color reproduction without any blooming.
Hisense has also included 4.1.2 multi-channel surround sound with eight speaker units. This provides you with some really great-sounding audio. In fact, I’ve been pretty impressed with the built-in speakers, that I didn’t even hook my soundbar up to it.
Of course, Hisense did not forget about the gamers out there, with a 165Hz native refresh rate panel here. There’s also Game Mode Ultra and VRR 288. And there’s also Anti Reflection Pro, which is a special filter on the screen to minimize glare and reflections.
Google TV is also powering this Hisense TV. So you’re getting all of your favorite Android apps on-board here, with Google Assistant (soon to be replaced by Gemini), Google Cast and much more.
