The OnePlus Open 2 is right around the corner, and its design has just surfaced online, for the first time. MySmartPrice shared some images of the upcoming flagship foldable smartphone from OnePlus.
Here’s the possible OnePlus Open 2 design, based on a late-stage prototype
Do note that the source collaborated with Yogesh Brar and Chunvn for this leak. Another thing you should note is that this is a look at a late-stage prototype, so if true, the real OnePlus Open 2 should look similar to this, if not identical.
If you check out the images below, you’ll see the device in question. You’ll notice that the overall look is not that much different from the OnePlus Open, well, at least based on the back side of the phone when folded, and the front side when open… those are the two orientations we can actually see here.
There are several differences compared to the current-gen model
There are some differences here compared to the first-gen model, though. The camera island, while it’s still circular and contains three sensors, has a different look to it. The Hasselblad logo is now on the bottom, and not on the right.
That camera bump could also be a bit thinner, but well have to wait and see. Another notable change that I’m seeing here is the backplate itself. It seems to be curved on all four sides, towards the edges. That is called the quad micro-curved design, and many flagships are using it these days.
You can also clearly see the power/lock and volume up and down buttons here. The same goes for the alert slider on the left. The phone’s main display will have a display camera hole in the top-right corner, while its bezels will be uniform all around.
The OnePlus Open 2 is expected to launch in the first quarter of next year. It will likely be identical to the OPPO Find N5, and could even launch at the same time as OPPO’s next-gen foldable. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to fuel those devices. The OnePlus Open 2 will also be thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
