With his future as Superman in the DC universe under question, fans have been hoping that Henry Cavill could switch teams and join the Marvel Cinematic Universe instead in some other superhero role. That’s pretty much all it’s been at this point, just the fans wishing it to happen, but it seems they may have summoned the opportunity into existence as the latest intel says the British actor has met with Marvel Studios.
Small Screen is reporting that insider sources tell them Cavill recently visited Marvel’s offices in London. We was apparently seen entering the offices “flanked by a number of people”. As for the specific purpose of his visit, SS is unclear on that, but they were told he was there to “have a chat with some of Marvel’s people in London” and that he was very keen to see people “face-to-face”. That said, SS notes they were informed the meeting adhered to the correct COVID safety protocols.
Cavill is currently one of the busiest men in Hollywood, with a ridiculous number of major upcoming projects on his plate. Including, but not limited to, starring in the Highlander reboot, leading Matthew Vaughn’s new spy franchise Argylle and reprising Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 2. How exactly he would fit in a potential MCU career into that as well, we have no idea. But Cavill is clearly someone who likes to work hard and never be out of a gig so it is plausible that he would be looking to start a partnership with the House of Ideas.
Especially as other intel has pointed to things being frosty between Henry Cavill and Warner Bros. at the moment. Marvel generally has a good reputation for treating its actors well, so that’s another plus in their column. But we’ll have to see how this situation plays out. Stay tuned for more on the Man of Steel star maybe crossing over into the MCU as and when it comes in.
