Crushing embarrassment for this MAGA moron.
In retrospect, MAGA spending a whole day insisting the crazed assassin targeting Democrat politicians was a Democrat himself was a little silly. That flimsy lie collapsed on contact with reality when the press began digging into the background of the lead suspect, Vance Boulter.
All too soon, videos emerged of him preaching homophobia, we learned that he was also targeting other Democrats and abortion providers, and his roommate and long-time friend bluntly said: “He voted for Trump. He liked Trump.”
None of that stopped MAGA extremist Senator Mike Lee of Utah, who saw the murders as an opportunity to mock his political opponents. Lee wasted no time rushing to social media to claim, without any evidence whatsoever, that the killer was some kind of Marxist:
A US Senator just said that a registered Republican, who voted for Trump, and preached as a Christian Nationalist is a Marxist.

As it has now been conclusively proven that the suspect is as MAGA as they come, you might think Lee is a little embarrassed. Well, as of writing, his post is still up, so perhaps the ability to feel shame simply isn’t in his DNA. Regardless, Lee has now been called out in person to his face.
“His cruel statement”
Senator Tina Smith, a close friend of one of the murdered couple, cornered Lee in the hallway off the Senate floor and gave him both barrels. As reported by Politico, she said:
“I wanted him to know how much pain that caused me and the other people in my state, and I think around the country, who think that this was a brutal attack. I don’t know whether Senator Lee thought fully through what it was — you have to ask him — but I needed him to hear from me directly what impact I think his cruel statement had on me, his colleague.”
Chuck Schumer also went on the offensive, saying, “for a senator to fan the flames of division with falsities while the killer was still on the loose is deeply irresponsible”. One of Smith’s aides also sent a furious email to Lee’s staff accusing him of exploiting “the murder of a lifetime public servant and her husband to post some sick burns about Democrats.”
Smith hopes her comments will sink in, going on to tell reporters: “too often in the Senate, we talk to one another through other people, and I wanted him to hear from me directly about what impactI hope that my talking with him will cause him to think more about the hateful things that he has been putting out on his personal X account that really should have no place in our public discourse.”
And his reaction? “Honestly, he seemed a little surprised to be confronted.” Cards on the table, we seriously doubt Lee will change and, if offending Democrats was his goal, then he’s achieved it many times over. But hey, at least he got a public scolding. That’s something… right?
