Lenovo has come to CES with the new ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 SPE, which has an e-ink top cover. This is a colored e-ink top cover, which allows you to customize your new laptop basically any way you like. You can choose from a moving image or a static image. And since this is an e-ink, it means that you’re going to lose very little power from this. Allowing it to continue working even when the laptop lid is closed.
What makes the ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 SPE even more impressive is that it can work with up to three laptops, pushing an image through all three of them. Making for a really incredible design. Lenovo had a display here at CES 2024, where you could see three of these ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 SPE models working together in a design that looked really cool.
This allows you to really take full advantage of customizing your laptop yourself, using virtually any design you want on the back. It also works with Lenovo’s MagicDock solution, which is actually a really cool solution. Using magnets and pogo pins, you can attach a slew of accessories to the top of your laptop.
It’s still a high-end laptop
Even with the e-ink top cover on the ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 SPE, it’s still a high-end laptop. It’s actually the exact same as the regular ThinkBook 13x Gen 4. Which includes the latest Intel Ultra processors, up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage.
It also sports a 13.5-inch narrow-bezel display, which looks absolutely stunning in my short hands-on time with the laptop.
This one will actually be available pretty soon, Lenovo is saying in the first quarter, so that would be before the end of March. And it’ll start at $1,399. Keep in mind, there will be a few different variants, since the specs are all “up to”.
