Google is opening up a cafe, and you’ll be able to visit it yourself. So long as you’re in Mountain View, California. Because that’s where the cafe is located. If you think Google opening up a cafe is weird, that’s understandable. Google is an online search company that also specializes in ads and dabbles in software and hardware. What it is not is a food company. But it’s really not that weird of a prospect. Google has cafes on its campus specifically for its Googlers. So it already sort of offers this kind of service.
That being said, the cafe isn’t a standalone eatery. It’s part of Google’s new experience store opening to the public in the area. Which will house more than just a cafe. Aside from grabbing a quick bite or your favorite latte, you will be able to engage in an array of activities as this new visitor experience store. Including going on an artwork scavenger hunt where you can “explore interactive and dynamic art pieces facilitated by Burning Man Project.”
Savor a meal with fresh, local ingredients at the Google cafe
While the visitor experience will have more to do than just “Get a taste of Google,” the big draw for some will undoubtedly be visiting the cafe to see what Google is cooking up. The company says this is its first-ever public dining experience. When you go there here’s what you can expect. Freshly harvested local ingredients being used to create dishes that are designed to be both tasty and friendly to the environment. Google says a big focus for the cafe was to ensure that meals took into account sustainability and biodiversity as major factors.
There’s not exactly an online menu you can check out if you’re curious about the meal options. But there is a menu in one of the images above that appears to show some of what the cafe may offer. Which includes a spinach and goat cheese quiche, sandwiches, toasts, and a range of different coffee drinks.
In addition to the cafe and the art scavenger hunt, the visitor experience store will also have pop-up shops for supporting local businesses, and of course, a place to check out Google’s latest hardware products like the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
