Google Flights is a pretty popular tool for booking flights. Those of us that don’t have status with a particular airline and are just looking for the cheapest flight, and the one that fits our schedule the best, using Google Flights is really useful. Now, Google Flights is about to get even more useful.

Google says the feature is starting to roll out this week, but it is going to show you insights about how much these flights have historically cost. And help you decide if now is the right time to buy, or to wait a couple weeks or months. Typically, the earlier you buy your tickets, the cheaper they are.

It can tell you when exactly is typically the cheapest time to book a flight to your destination. Say for example, I wanted to fly to Disney World for Christmas, a flight from Detroit to Orlando shouldn’t be too expensive. Currently, they are starting at $298, and Google tells me that the best time to book is usually later, between September 9 and December 8. It also shows that the price is typical for this flight, and a graph of how the prices have fluctuated over the past 60 days. All very useful information.

Google Flights continues to be the best place to book your vacation

Google Flights has long been a great way to book your flights for work or for vacation. As it has so many great features that you can use. Including how much emissions your flight will use. It will also tell you on some airlines if you have below average legroom (like Frontier Airlines, Spirit or JetBlue). And it can even tell you what features to expect on-board. Like Wifi, in-seat power, and Live TV on airlines like Delta and United Airlines.

If you haven’t been using Google Flights, it might be a good time to check them out. Of course, this is more for the occasional flier. If you fly a lot, you should stick to one airline and get status with them, so you can fly for free on some routes and get upgrades to First Class from time to time.
