Google has just confirmed when will Android 15 start rolling out. A report surfaced quite recently claiming that it will happen in October, and it seems like that report was spot on.

Google indirectly confirms when will Android 15 start rolling out to Pixels

The company did not confirm this directly, well, not exactly. The confirmation comes from the release notes for the Android 14 downgrade OTA, which is still an official confirmation of sorts.

Google recently changed the release notes for the Android Beta Exit update. The updated version, as spotted by Android Authority, says that users who are waiting for a stable version of Android 15 should “ignore [the downgrade] OTA until Android 15 is available in October”.

Android 15 stable rollout confirmation

That’s a pretty straightforward confirmation. Folks over at Android Authority believe that the update will start rolling out mid-month, so we’re in for a bit of a wait. Google apparently still needs to put some final touches on the update.

The source also said that Google declined to confirm the initial report when asked, and yet then indirectly confirmed it via these release notes. At least now we know when to expect the update to drop.

Android 15 is coming to quite a few Pixel phones

Android 15 will be coming to quite a few Pixel phones. The Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will get it, of course. They launched with Android 14, which is an odd move for Google, but the event did occur very early, so… we realize why that happened.

In addition to Google’s latest offerings, a ton of other phones will get it, basically every phone from the Pixel 6 to today. The Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 8a.

There you go. All we can do at this point is wait for the update, which will likely drop in about a month and a half.
