The headlining feature of the Nothing Phones is the Glyph Interface. This is the array of LEDs on the back of the phones that serve different purposes. The Glyph Composer, the app that will let you make your own ringtones, is finally available for both Nothing Phones.
As you may know, both of the Nothing Phones have ringtone packs that play in sync with the flashing lights on the back. They both come with a set of ringtones made by Nothing. This is one of the more interesting things about this phone.
Glyph Composer is coming to the Nothing Phones
So, Nothing (via 9To5Google) announced that the Glyph Composer is coming to both phones today. As the name suggests, you’ll be able to dig in and make your own ringtones using different sounds.
Looking at the interface, it looks like you won’t be able to go full Mozart with the app. However, it’s a neat and intuitive way to make your own tones. From the looks of it, you won’t be tapping out individual notes, rather, you’ll tap on one of five different buttons. Each button will play a different short sequence of notes. When you do that, you’ll see a set of lights on the Glyph Interface preview above light up.
To make your ringtone, you’ll tap on the Record button and tap out your sequence. You’ll be able to record up to 10-second-long ringtones. After you record, you’ll be able to save your masterpiece and assign it as your ringtone. If you’re a Nothing Phone user, and you want to make your own ringtones, you can download the app below.
This isn’t all that’s coming
Your phone comes with a ringtone pack made by Nothing itself. However, the company partnered with house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia to bring some new ringtones. You can access this new set of ringtones through the Glyph Composer app.
