About a week ago, a report surfaced claiming that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will cost €1,499 in Europe. Well, that may not be true. The global Xiaomi 13 Ultra model could cost less than initially expected.
The global Xiaomi 13 Ultra could cost less than initially reported
The phone surfaced on listings from several retailers with lower price tags. It appeared on Belsimpel, a Dutch retailer, and Gomibo too. Both of those listings say that this is an EU variant of the device, so it’s seemingly not a Chinese model.
The prices listed are: €1,299 in the Netherlands, €1,277 in Germany, and €1,320 in Ireland. To make things even weirder, all listings say that the phone is shipping within 5 to 7 business days, it’s not out of stock or anything.
That is, of course, not possible, as the global variant of the phone didn’t launch yet. That makes us doubt the legitimacy of these listings, of course. We’re not really sure these are European models, but you never know. These are well-known retailers, by the way.
It’ll still be a lot more expensive than it is in China
Now, considering that the initial estimate was €1,499, this is not bad at all. Compared to the Chinese model, it still looks bad, though. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra pricing in China starts at CNY5,999 ($850/€792).
Considering this price difference, it may make more sense to import the phone, at least for some of you. Well, if the rumors for the global price tag pan out, of course. You’d be getting software made for China, but that tradeoff may be worth it. Also, you may be able to sideload a global version of the software once it launches.
In the best case scenario, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be around €450 more expensive in the EU than in China. Well, presuming these price tag rumors are accurate, of course. We’ll have to wait for Xiaomi to share official info.
