HONOR will launch its Magic4 flagship series globally on May 12. This information was confirmed by Bhavya Siddappa, HONOR’s global PR lead. She confirmed it via Twitter.
The HONOR Magic4 series’ global launch will take place on May 12
The image she shared does mention the HONOR Magic4 series, but in the tweet itself, the Magic4 Pro is mentioned. The Magic4 Pro is the company’s flagship, though the ‘Ultimate’ variant was also launched in China, with a ceramic back, and some other goodies. Chances are that the ‘Ultimate’ version won’t arrive to global markets.
HONOR actually launched three Magic4 devices in China. The Magic4 and Magic4 Pro launched in February, while the ‘Ultimate’ model followed in March. The first two will likely launch globally.
This announcement will take place in the UK, in London, to be more accurate. That is also something Bhavya mentioned in her Tweet. This essentially means that this will be a physical event, not just an online-only launch.
Let’s talk a bit about the Magic4 Pro, as that will likely be the most interesting launch of the day. The Magic4 Pro is made out of metal and glass, and it has a pill-shaped display camera hole. A front-facing camera and a ToF 3D depth/biometrics sensor are placed on the front.
It includes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 100W wired & wireless charging & more
The device has a huge circular camera island on the back, and it’s quite curved. Its display measures 6.81 inches, and this is an LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. That display is curved, quite a bit, actually.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 fuels the phone, while both 8GB and 12GB RAM models are available in China. We’re not sure if both will make their way to global markets, we’ll have to wait and see.
A 4,600mAh battery is also a part of the package, in addition to 100W wired, and 100W wireless charging. A 50-megapixel main camera is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto unit.
The global variant of the phone will likely be extremely similar to the Chinese one. It will include global software, though, of course.
