Gina Carano Returns in Terror on the Prairie Trailer

Cara Dune is in Gina Carano‘s rearview mirror. Shortly after it was announced that the actress would not be returning for season 3 of The Mandalorian, a consequence of her controversial social media posts, it was reported that Carano would develop new movie projects with Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire. That partnership has brought about the new Western movie Terror on the Prairie with Carano in the lead role, and you can watch the teaser trailer below.

In Terror on the Prairie, a frontier woman on the Montana plains must protect herself against a ruthless gang of outlaws hellbent on getting revenge. The film is directed by Michael Polish (Northfork, Twin Falls Idaho) with a screenplay by Josiah Nelson. Along with Carano in the lead, the Western stars Nick Searcy, Cowboy Cerrone, Tyler Fischer, Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis, Heath Freeman, Samaire Armstrong, Travis Mills, Matthias Hues, Rhys Becker, Izzy Marshall, Jeremy Gauna, and Thomas White Eagle.

We’re making top-quality entertainment that all Americans can love,” says The Daily Wire’s Jeremy Boreing of the company’s approach to filmmaking, per THR.

Dallas Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk) and Amanda Presmyk produced under their Bonfire Legend banner with Carano serving as executive producer. Jeremy Boreing and his fellow Daily Wire co-founders Ben Shapiro and Caleb Robinson also executive produced with Nicolas Chartier and Jonathan Deckter of Voltage alongside Travis Mills and Danielle Cox.

There’s More Gina Carano Where That Came From

This movie is the first major role for Gina Carano after she was fired from The Mandalorian. She played the character Cara Dune for two seasons, but Carano found herself in hot water after sharing controversial posts on social media. Social media backlash resulted in Carano losing her job on the series. The actress recently spoke about the “double standards” of her firing compared to The View giving Whoopi Goldberg a suspension.

There will be more movie projects made with The Daily Wire. Carano will also star in a dark thriller called White Knuckle. That was going to be the first project Carano planned to release, but when it got delayed, Carano used that time to focus on Terror on the Prairie. She previously expressed how excited she was to get White Knuckle made as well.

“I’m completely ignited to be creating this thriller with The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend,” Gina said of that project. “I feel I am exactly where I want and need to be at this moment in my life; it feels as if I have wings.”

Terror on the Prairie will be released in Summer 2022 with an exact date yet to be announced. White Knuckle doesn’t have a release window set at this time, but it had been reported that it would start filming in the earlier months of 2022.
