Genshin Impact will be taking players on a new adventure in Sumeru soon as part of its latest content update, patch 3.6. The new update also promises to introduce players to new characters, both playable and unplayable. Though that’s pretty much a staple of every patch and players have probably come to expect it.

This is a gacha game after all. And it wouldn’t be a gacha game without new playable characters to try your hand at acquiring through Genshin’s wish events. HoYoverse says that patch 3.6 will go live for Genshin Impact players on April 12. Which means the new content is just a couple of weeks away now. If you’re mostly caught up, now is the time to dive back into the game and shore up any remaining things you might need to do before the new patch drops.

That way you can ensure you can jump right into the new quests.

Genshin Impact patch 3.6 brings in two more playable characters

If you live for collecting new characters in this game, you’ll have two more to snag soon. Patch 3.6 will usher in the arrival of Baizhu and Kaveh. Baizhu is a Dendro user and wields a catalyst for a weapon, though he’ll focus more on healing and being support for the rest of your team than attacking. He’s also this patch’s 5-star character. When it comes Kaveh, he’s a 4-star Dendro user with a claymore in hand for slower, yet more powerful sweeping attacks.

While both new characters are part of patch 3.6, they won’t be available right away. At launch on April 12, the wish events will start with Nahida and Nilou. While Baizhu and Kaveh won’t be available in their wish events until the second half of the patch. So keep that in mind before you spend all those primogems on wish pulls.
