Genshin Impact version 2.5 is right around the corner, bringing with it story quests for Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko. The highly anticipated new content update for the game will be arriving in just a couple of short weeks, with miHoYo confirming the launch date of February 16.

Speaking of Yae Miko, she’ll be the latest 5-star character added to the game alongside this patch. And she should be the first wish event players are able to optionally participate in. According to miHoYo, her wish event will be available in the early stage of the update. But the team doesn’t mention a specific time. That being said, if you’ve got any leftover primogems or intertwined fates, you may want to save them for whenever her wish event does go live.

Genshin Impact 2.5 introduces a new 5-star Electro user, Yae Miko

Current players should expect a healthy amount of new content coming with this latest patch, including a new 5-star character. Yae Miko is the head shrine maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine and she wields the power of Electro.

She also uses a catalyst for her weapon, so her combat may feel a little bit like Lisa’s. Based on the description of her two most powerful abilities, she should be a good team member. Her Elemental Skill, called Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura, periodically rains down lightning on nearby opponents.

Meanwhile her Elemental Burst, Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin turns unsealed Sesshou Sakuras created by her Elemental Skill into Tenko Thunderbolts that descend from up above for massive Electro damage.

Wish events for Raiden Shogun and Sangonomiya Kokomi will be available after Yae Miko. So if you missed either of those characters you’ll have another chance to get them soon.

Players will face corrosive darkness in a new seasonal event

In addition to new characters, a new seasonal event will be available as part of this event called the Three Realms Gateway Offering. During the event players will be transported to a new realm similar to Enkanomiya that’s “haunted by an unknown darkness.”

There, they’ll need to make use of a new item called the Bokuso Box. This will give them new abilities and help them withstand the corrosive darkness. Players can also level up the Bokuso Box to make it stronger by doing a number of things in the new event area. Including completing objectives, opening chests, and unlocking waypoints.
