NVIDIA is finally extending the RTX 3080 memberships for GeForce NOW to subscribers who want to pay monthly. Since October of last year, the RTX 3080 tier of GeForce NOW was offered on a waitlist. A couple of months later, NVIDIA removed the waitlist so anyone could subscribe. But the only way you could gain access was if you paid for the 6-month membership, which was $99.99.
As of today, any subscriber can pay monthly for the RTX 3080 tier of GeForce NOW. However, it’s still a better deal if you pay for it 6 months at a time. If you choose to subscribe monthly, it costs $19.99. And over a 6-month period that equals out to be $120. That means you end up spending $20 more for the same membership by going month to month.
That being said, paying one month at a time is going to be more feasible for some subscribers. Even if you have to pay more in the long run, the monthly option might be more sustainable for you.
The RTX 3080 monthly subscription has all the same features
Naturally, NVIDIA isn’t taking anything away from the features list. That means subscribers on the monthly variant of this tier will still get things like RTX ON and exclusive access to RTX 3080 servers, 8-hour session lengths, up to 1440p at 120 fps on PC and Mac, and up to 4K HDR on SHIELD TV.
The only difference is the price you pay upfront. While the graphics boost is nice, the real win here might be the exclusive access to RTX 3080 servers and the 8-hour session length. You’ll be fighting with less people for a spot on the servers during peak times and once you get logged on, you can play for longer periods.
Celebrate by enjoying new games coming to the service this week
In addition to making the RTX 3080 tier available as a month-by-month payment option, there’s also six new games joining the service this week. This includes The Buccaneers!, Distant Worlds 2, and Ironsmith Medieval Simulator which are all new releases on Steam.
Then there’s Bus Driver Simulator, Martha Is Dead, and Survival Quiz CITY.
