The Google Pixel 7a will launch in less than two weeks, and it just surfaced on Geekbench. This listing not only showed us the results of its benchmark, but some of its specifications too.
The Pixel 7a showed up on Geekbench, revealing some of its specs
First things first, the phone scored 1,380 points in the single-core, and 3,071 points in the multi-core benchmark. The device is fueled by the Google Tensor G2 SOC, which is also confirmed here.
Now, this listing also confirms that the device includes 8GB of RAM. That will likely be the only variant that we’ll get. Android 13 runs out of the box here, but the device will get Android 14 the moment it launches later this year.
That is basically the only info that the listing shared, but we know a lot more about this device. It will resemble the Pixel 7 quite a bit, but it will be a bit smaller, thanks to a smaller display.
The Pixel 7a will feature a 6.1-inch fullHD+ OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. This display will be flat, and a centered display camera hole will sit at the top. An optical in-display fingerprint scanner will also be included.
Google will use a 64-megapixel main camera for the first time
A 64-megapixel main camera will be backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera on the back. A 10.8-megapixel selfie camera is also expected. A 4,400mAh battery was mentioned in rumors, and the same goes for 20W wired charging. 5W wireless charging will be included. Do note that you won’t get a charger with the device, though.
Chances are that only one storage model will be available, a 128GB variant. Google may yet surprise us, however. The phone is tipped to cost $499, and it will become available to purchase right after it gets announced. Well, at least according to reports.
The Pixel 7a will launch on May 10, during the Google I/O keynote. It will launch alongside the Pixel Fold, and the Pixel Tablet. This will be a packed event, it seems, as Google will also talk about Android 14.
