The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could get a major camera boost compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Evan Blass is back with a new piece of the puzzle when it comes to this phone.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could get a major camera boost
The tipster went to X to confirm that the phone will feature a 200-megapixel main camera. That wide-angle camera will offer “2x optical quality zoom”. This could actually be the same camera as seen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 includes a 50-megapixel snapper with an f/1.8 aperture lens. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, has a 200-megapixel unit with an f/1.7 aperture lens.
Now, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will most likely use that very same camera. We’re still not sure, though, so don’t take this for granted. There are worse 200-megapixel cameras on the market, that’s for sure.
We will have to wait in order to find out what sensor is this exactly, and other details too. It could easily be the same setup as on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, as this new foldable is supposed to be a ton-of-the-line offering.
The device’s name, display sizes & thickness have been confirmed
Evan Blass has recently confirmed some other details about this phone. First of all, he confirmed its name. The phone was referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim in the past. Well, it seems like Samsung will go with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition name.
In addition to that, he revealed the display sizes of the phone, and also how thin the device will be. The main display on the phone will measure 8 inches, while the cover panel will measure 6.5 inches.
When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will measure 10.6mm. When unfolded, it will be only 4.9mm thick. This device is tipped to arrive later this year, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.
