The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 could become Samsung’s very first foldables to utilize an Exynos SoC. To be more exact, the Exynos 2500 could end up fueling both smartphones.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Galaxy Z Flip 7 could end up using an Exynos SoC
This report comes from Korea, and it is quite surprising. Samsung stuck to Snapdragon processors for its foldables thus far, but with the ones coming next year, the company could make a change.
That very same report also confirms what we heard recently about the Galaxy S25 series. The entire Galaxy S25 series could ditch an Exynos SoC, and stick to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon offering.
The Galaxy S25 will allegedly be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. This year’s models, the Galaxy S24 series devices, were all over the place. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ were fueled by both the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and Exynos 2400, depending on the market. The Galaxy S24 Ultra used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy exclusively.
We’re not sure if Snapdragon versions will also be on offer
If this report pans out, the entire Galaxy S25 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 exclusively. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will use the Exynos 2500, but we’re not sure if Snapdragon alternatives will be available or not.
The report did note that Samsung would have to improve the Exynos 2500 yield and stabilize the chip’s performance in order for this to happen. Neither the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 nor Exynos 2500 launched just yet.
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch in January next year. There is a chance Samsung will change up its release cycle, in which case things could change. We’ll have to wait and see. Three models are once again expected, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
