Months ahead of its expected official unveiling, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has leaked in all its glory. In collaboration with MySmartPrice, Reliable leakster Steve H. McFly, aka OnLeaks, has shared high-resolution 3D CAD renders as well as a 360-degree of the upcoming foldable, showing us its design in great detail.

It will be thicker than its predecessor

From the get going, you will notice that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a little squarer as compared to the Fold 3, which is in line with recent rumors. Samsung is making the book-like foldable shorter and broader, which allows for better one-handed usability of the external display. Its full dimension is said to come in at 155 x 130 x 7.1 mm. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a dimension of 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4 mm.

Notably, the new foldable is a little on the thicker side of things. This comes as a surprise since earlier rumors suggested Samsung is looking to make the device thinner so it is easier to carry around. Maybe it will work on the hinge and folding mechanism to make it as compact as the Fold 3 when folded. The latter measures 14.4mm (sagging) to 16.0mm (hinge) in its compact form.

Despite the shape change, Samsung is keeping the display diagonals unchanged from last year. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will feature a 7.6-inch display on the inside and a 6.2-inch panel on the outside. Of course, the aspect ratio isn’t the same anymore, with the newer device making things a little more practical, particularly for the external display. Both screens should come with a 120Hz refresh rate and support the S Pen.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 also gets a newer camera design

Another notable design change that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is getting is in terms of the rear camera array. It still has three cameras vertically aligned at the back. But instead of sitting inside a bump, each sensor protrudes out individually from the back panel. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is the obvious reference for this camera design but Samsung has been using it on a lot more smartphones lately, including some mid-rangers.

Earlier reports suggest the foldable will get the same rear camera setup as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. So we are looking at a 108-megapixel primary shooter for the first time on these “unconventional” smartphones. The device will also get two selfie cameras a hole-punch on the external display and a UDC (under-display camera) solution on the inside. Hopefully, Samsung has improved its UDC tech enough to include it in this super expensive phone.

The leaked Galaxy Z Fold 4 renders also show stereo speakers (top and bottom), a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the right side, and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. According to previous reports, the foldable will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor. It will come with a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. It should also feature an IP rating for water resistance and support wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging.
