After the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21, One UI 5.1 is now available for Samsung‘s Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldables. The company released the updates recently in select markets. A wider rollout covering the phones in more regions, including the US, should begin soon.

One UI 5.1 is rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Fold 3, and Flip 3

As of this writing, the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is available in Europe. The updated firmware build number for the latest Fold model is F936BXXU1CWAC (via). The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, meanwhile, are getting the same update in Asia. The new firmware versions for the 2021 Samsung foldable duo are F926BTBU3EWB1 and F711BXXU4EWB1, respectively (via). All of these devices are getting the February 2023 Android security patch, which fixes more than 50 vulnerabilities.

However, this update is more about One UI 5.1. Debuting with the Galaxy S23 series earlier this month, the new version of Samsung’s custom Android software brings a lot of goodies. It is still based on Android 13, but we have several new camera features. Specifically, the stock camera app gives you more options to play with while shooting. If you use Expert RAW, which is a professional-grade camera app from Samsung, you get a shortcut for it in the stock camera app.

New editing features let you remaster photos the way you want. You can even remaster downloaded GIFs for enhanced clarity and resolution. Samsung’s foldables already make multitasking easier with features like app pairs, split screen gestures, and more. With One UI 5.1, you can easily minimize or switch to full screen by dragging from the corner. No need to go to the options menu. Your most used apps will appear below the recent apps when you enter the split-screen mode.

Elsewhere, One UI 5.1 lets you select multiple wallpapers that change automatically based on your activity. Stock apps including Gallery, AR Emoji, Weather, and Samsung Internet are getting new features and improvements too.

Overall, it’s a fairly major update even though it’s arriving just a few months after the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. As a quick reminder, One UI 5.1 is also based on Android 13. Android 14 is still months away.
