Samsung has announced its new foldable smartphones two weeks ago. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are the devices in question, and after two weeks of pre-orders, the two devices are now going on sale.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 & Flip 4 go on sale in over 40 countries
The phones are now available to purchase in Europe. India, South Korea, the UK, and the US. Do note that a lot more countries will join soon, though. The two foldables will be released in over 130 (in total) by next month.
Pre-order numbers have been quite good for Samsung, at least based on the information we have. Almost one million people pre-ordered the devices in South Korea in just a week, while over 50,000 of them pre-ordered the device in India within 24 hours.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are quite similar to their predecessors, design-wise. Samsung did make some notable changes, though, especially when it comes to the Flip 4.
Both phones come with improved cameras
The phone now has a less pronounced hinge, while it’s more compact overall. On top of that, the phone now offers considerably improved battery life, and also cameras, which were the main complaints when it comes to the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 also comes with an improved camera setup, amongst other things. Many people would say that Samsung played it safe this time around, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Samsung does need more competition in the foldable smartphone market, globally.
We’ve reviewed both the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 by now, in case you’re interested. Neither of these two phones is cheap, so don’t jump the gun if you’re not sure. Consumers in the US do have some great trade-in offers, though.
Both phones are fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, one of the best chips on the market now. Samsung didn’t skimp out on other specs either, as these two are high-end products in that regard.
