Another Samsung device is now receiving the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update publicly: Galaxy Z Fold 3. The Korean firm has released the big update for the new foldable in its homeland South Korea. But the rollout should soon reach other markets as well.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 quickly follows the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in picking up the stable One UI 4.0 update. The clamshell folding phone made the jump earlier today. Both new foldables have been receiving beta updates regularly for the past few weeks.
Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the third Samsung phone to receive the One UI 4.0 update in the stable channel. The Galaxy S21 series picked up the big update first in mind-November. Samsung is also beta testing the new software for a bunch of older flagships. These include the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Note 10 series, and the Galaxy S10 series. We expect a few of them to receive the stable One UI 4.0 update before the end of this year.
One UI 4.0 brings tons of new features, improvements, and changes to Samsung’s Android devices. It also packs all the goodies that are part and parcel of Google’s version of Android 12.
Samsung releases stable One UI 4.0 update to Galaxy Z Fold 3
A few years back, Samsung was far from the fastest OEM when it comes to software updates. But the Korean giant has significantly improved its software game in recent years. It now consistently beats every other OEM in releasing the latest Android security updates to its devices. We are now seeing the same commitment for big Android updates as well. The latest release is another proof of it.
We are only into the first week of December and Samsung has already seeded the stable One UI 4.0 update to three devices. It had taken the company till the end of December to release the stable Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update to three devices last year. The firm might be able to add at least two more devices by that time this year.
Nonetheless, if you’re a Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Flip 3 user, you should soon receive the stable One UI 4.0 update if you haven’t already. Like any other update, you can check for it by navigating to Settings > Software update, and tapping Download and install. Since it’s a big update, we advise you to connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network to avoid incurring unwanted cellular data charges.
