Summary: The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will end up utilizing the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, it seems. The phone was tested with that chip in South Korea. It remains to be seen whether the device will be more expensive than its predecessor, though, it’s possible considering the latest tariffs. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to launch in either July or August.
We’ve seen quite a few rumors talking about the possible Galaxy Z Flip 7 chip options. The Exynos 2500 was mentioned as an option, but Samsung will go a different route after all, it seems.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite will fuel the Galaxy Z Flip 7 after all, it seems
Based on a new report by PandaFlash X, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. That will be the ‘for Galaxy’ version, of course, an overclocked variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The tipster says that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 “has already passed all internal tests, including network connectivity tests” with that chip. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will use that very same processor, of course.
Using the Exynos 2500 SoC would be less expensive for Samsung. It seems like the foundry can’t produce enough of those chips, though. Well, that could be only one of the problems with it, so Samsung decided to go with the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead.
The device was not expected to get a price bump, but it’s a possibility due to tariffs
Does this mean that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will become more expensive than the Galaxy Z Flip 6? Well, it is possible, though an earlier report suggested that Samsung is looking to keep the same pricing as with the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
That means that the pricing could start at $1,099 in the US. Since that report, however, Trump tariffs took place, so that could change the playing field. It remains to be seen, we cannot be sure.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will become official either in July or August. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will arrive alongside that phone, while some additional devices are also expected. That will be the company’s second Unpacked event of the year, following the launch of the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year. If you’d like to check out the phone’s design, we’ve exclusively revealed it back in March.
