Samsung is expected to launch its next-gen foldable phones sometime in H2 2025. This year, the company could expand its “Z” lineup once again after doing so last year by launching the Galaxy Z Fold SE. In addition to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip FE, Samsung could also launch a Z Fold SE 2 and its first tri-fold device. Now, a new report claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a reinforced hinge and a less visible display crease.
The rumors surrounding the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 have been less than encouraging for those hoping for a revolution in terms of tech specs. Everything points to Samsung keeping a conservative line, focusing on refinement and optimization. The latest report goes in a similar direction, teasing more durable products.
Samsung could make the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s display crease less visible, reinforced hinge
PandaFlash 𝕏, a tipster who has revealed some details about Samsung’s upcoming foldables, has shared some new information. According to the X/Twitter post, the firm will implement a new internal structure with a more durable hinge. In turn, this would lead to a less visible crease on the screen, something in which Samsung has fallen behind its rivals.
The display could also receive several improvements. The South Korean giant could implement the ProScaler tech from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. ProScaler helps improve the display image quality in real time. It could be covered by an “all-new flexible glass” that we assume will be more resistant and durable than previous generations. Plus, the display could be much more efficient than that of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The same tipster had said that recently.
Enhanced cooling, “a bit” faster charging, and slimmer body
Samsung confirmed last year that the Exynos 2500 chip will power the Galaxy Z Flip 7. According to the latest leak, the SoC will benefit from a larger vapor chamber for enhanced cooling. Interestingly, the phone could retain the 25W “fast” charging of the Flip 6, but its battery could charge “a bit” faster. The South Korean giant will also integrate the latest ProVisual Engine to boost camera quality. Lastly, Samsung is said to include these improvements in a slimmer body surrounded by a “next generation” Armor Aluminum Frame.
So, it seems that Samsung’s 2025 foldables will follow a similar path to the Galaxy S25 lineup. The firm does not seem to want to compete in terms of revolutionary tech specs with its rivals. Galaxy AI will likely be one of the key selling points on these phones.
