The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 could actually get a major camera update. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 launched last month, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 rumors are already out in the wild.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 could get a major camera update, finally

This particular piece of information comes from GalaxyClub. The source claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 prototypes are being tested at Samsung as we speak, and that they feature a 50-megapixel main camera.

As many of you know, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 includes a 12-megapixel main camera. We don’t have any additional details regarding that 50-megapixel camera, but it could be the same camera the company used in the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+.

If that ends up being the case, we’re looking at a 50-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture, and a 24mm lens. That’s a 1./1.56-inch sensor, with Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS support. This only applies if Samsung goes for the same setup, of course.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 prototype is codenamed ‘B6’, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 was ‘B5’. That is basically all details that we have thus far. Also, considering that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 release is basically a year away, things could change. So take this with a grain of salt, this is just a prototype.

The phone’s design is still a mystery, which is unsurprising

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 design is, of course, a mystery at this point. It remains to be seen if Samsung plans to make some major changes, though that probably won’t happen.

This time around, the company did make some notable steps forward design-wise, more than it did with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The Flip 5 has a much larger display than its predecessor, not to mention that it can fold flat too.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will probably continue down that road, with some minor changes. We do expect Samsung to improve the crease situation, though, as the crease on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is quite noticeable. That phone will likely be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, by the way.
