Samsung continues to update its high-end smartphones to the August 2024 Android security levels. Most recently, the company released the new security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Flip 4, and S23 FE smartphones. Now, the South Korean giant has rolled out the August 2024 update for the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold 2. In addition, the same update is now hitting three Galaxy A series smartphones as well.
Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 are getting the August 2024 update in the US
SamMobile reports that Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2’s August 2024 update is now rolling out in the US. The new firmware is available for the factory-unlocked variants of these smartphones. The build number of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G’s update is F707U1UES9IXH1 and it is rolling for Sprint users. As for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, its new firmware build is F916U1UES7KXH1. It is available for users on AT&T and Sprint networks in the country.
For those unaware, both the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Z Fold 2 were released running Android 10 in mid-2020. They were provided four major Android updates including Android 11, Android 12, Android 13, and Android 14. Unfortunately, they won’t get the upcoming Android 15 update.
Samsung is also rolling out the new update to the Galaxy A32, A54, and A73
Apart from the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Z Fold 2, three affordable A series smartphones are getting the August 2024 update. These devices include the Galaxy A32, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A73. The company is rolling out the new August 2024 update to the international units of these smartphones in select markets. The new update is expected to be available in more regions in the next few weeks.
The latest August 2024 update for the aforementioned smartphones fixes as many as 50 security issues. Apart from the enhanced security, the new update doesn’t bring any new features. The same update will be available to more Samsung smartphones in the coming days.
